Rebekah uses color, line, and texture to communicate and is passionate about using imagery to express her internal, as well as, external world. She is a licensed Art Therapist, but continues to create her own artwork for self care in order to maintain sanity as she balances holding space for the beauty and pain of this world. Most of her work is process oriented. She first discovered using imagery as an emotional outlet during her studies at Ouachita Baptist University and continued strengthening her creative muscle at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Many of the places Rebekah has lived and explored find their way into her work. She has been inspired by growing up under the blue Texas sky, kayaking the rivers of Arkansas, aspen trees of New Mexico, the majesty of Austria, and soaking up the colors of India. Creating, travel, curiosity, and loved ones have all equally shaped her into artist she is today. Mark Rothko, Degas, Egon Schiele have been important inspirations.
